Solo Exhibition by Puri Fidhini
Jakarta, February 4, 2025 — Perempuan Laut had the opportunity to visit a solo exhibition by Puri Fidhini. When the women of the sea meet art, a wordless dialogue is created about resilience, freedom, and identity. In Puri Fidhini’s Solo Exhibition, we discover how the sea and women tell their stories through strokes of color and imagination.
This exhibition is inspired by Puri’s voyage in the Arctic Ocean, where she found tranquility amidst the waves through her encounter with a whale, which she also describes as a “magical moment.” Puri was deeply moved by the experience of seeing the large mammal and hearing its sound directly. In a life filled with challenges, Puri has made the whale a symbol of peace, a reminder that even in a vast and challenging ocean, there is always calm if we know where to find it.
Just like the sea, art is vast and full of meaning. What do you think?
